The Daffodil

Near my home in Susan, Virginia is the historic village of Gloucester, Virginia which is known by many as "The Daffodil Capital of Virginia". Many skiffs are found in the creeks and rivers in the middle pennisula of Virginia where we are surrounded by the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Once a year in March there is a great Daffodil Festival in Gloucester honoring the Daffodil. I love daffodils and was inspired by the fields of daffodils upon the hills. On the first showing of this painting at Mathews Market Days it was sold and now has a home in Richmond, Virginia.
